One of the first horses purchased by the Blunts in Aleppo in January 1878, costing £69. He was exported to Crabbet in the summer of 1878 and was the first stallion used at the stud. He was purchased by Mr D Mackay of New South Wales and exported to Australia in 1885 (with Hadban). A versatile horse standing 14.2½ hands, he made a name for himself in Australia as a successful sire of buggy horses. He also proved himself on the hunting field in addition to winning prizes at showjumping. He had previously been ridden into war in Armenia in 1877 where he was twice hit by a bullet!
