Terms of Service

BestInShow ("we", "us") provides thebestin.show and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18, you may only use the Service with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Keep your sign-in credentials secure.
• The information you provide (name, email, profile details) must be accurate, and you must keep it up to date.
• One person, one account. Don't impersonate others or create accounts to evade enforcement actions.
• You can delete your account at any time from your account settings.

You own what you post

You retain ownership of the photos, articles, links, comments, and other content you submit ("Your Content").

License you grant us

By submitting Your Content, you grant BestInShow a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and create derivative works (for example, resized thumbnails, search indexes, and feed cards) for the limited purpose of operating and promoting the Service. This license ends when you delete Your Content, except to the extent it has already been shared with or used by others (such as appearing in another animal's pedigree record).

Your responsibility

You represent that you have the rights to submit Your Content and that it does not infringe anyone's copyright, privacy, or other rights. Do not upload photos you do not have permission to share.

Public by default

Animal profiles, owner profiles, photos, links, articles, and comments are public by default and may be indexed by search engines. Do not post information you do not want to be public.

Don't use the Service to:

• Post content that is illegal, harassing, threatening, hateful, or that targets others based on protected characteristics
• Post sexually explicit or violent content, or content involving animal cruelty
• Post spam, scams, deceptive content, or unsolicited promotions
• Infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
• Misrepresent your identity, your animals, or your relationships to other people or animals
• Attempt to access another account, bypass security measures, or interfere with the Service
• Scrape, mass-download, or automate access to the Service without prior written permission
• Use the Service to develop a competing product or train machine-learning models

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules. See the Transparency page for how moderation works in practice.

Any signed-in user can report content. When content receives multiple reports it may be automatically hidden pending review. Content owners are notified when their content is hidden. We do not shadow-ban. For a full description of how moderation works, see the Transparency page.

Copyright (DMCA): if you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, contact us at info@thebestin.show with a description of the work, the URL of the infringing content, your contact information, and a good-faith statement that you are authorized to act on the rights-holder's behalf.

The BestInShow name, logo, design, and the software that runs the Service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights in our name or branding beyond using the Service as intended.

The Service embeds and links to third-party sites (such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and others). We are not responsible for those sites or the content they serve. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

The Service displays third-party advertisements via Google AdSense. Ads do not influence search ranking or feed ordering.

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that pose a risk to the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will survive.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content posted by other users is accurate. Pedigree information is submitted by users and is not verified by BestInShow.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BestInShow will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100).

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, when appropriate, notify users. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
