Jadzia

Jadzia was adopted from a pet shop alongside her sister Elune in September, 2011. They had been fighting badly (Elune had apparently ripped off most of Jadzia's tail), so they sat alone in tiny cages. My boyfriend and I felt so bad for them, so we decided to take them home and attempt to reunite them properly. Only a few weeks later they were together and they have never fought since. Jadzia is high-spirited, stubborn and rarely afraid of anything. This means that she sometimes takes leaps of faith and I have had to catch her in mid-air many times. She rarely appreciates scratching or grooming, and will tell us so by forcefully pushing our fingers away with her paw. Sadly, Jadzia is more sensitive to sugar than normal degus (which is already very sensitive), and has developed cataracts on both eyes despite her very low-sugar, low-fat diet. She will go blind, but she seems to be doing fine nonetheless :)
