The Costina breed is the smallest of all chinchillas. Costina chinchillas are large furry rodents, with long ears, long, furry tails, and mouse-like faces. A Costina chinchilla’s coat is very dense though their fur is short and not as compact other breeds of chinchilla. Costina coats are naturally grey-brown in color but through selective breeding many coat colors are now available. Their ears are longer and they look more 'rat-like' than the other chinchilla and also have button shaped eyes.
