The Shel-Aussie is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Sheltie and the Australian Shepherd or the Miniature Australian Shepherd. You may be able to determine the temperament of mixed breeds by looking at all breeds used in the cross. You could get any combination of characteristics as all designer dogs are not necessarily 50% purebred to 50% purebred. In fact, it is very common that multi-generational crosses will be employed based on the breeders wish to achieve certain goals.
