Reporting content

If you see a photo, link, or article that you believe violates our community standards, you can report it using the Report button.

The Report button appears on every photo, link, and article detail page. You must be signed in to report content. You won't see a report button on your own content.

  1. Click the Report button below the content.
  2. Select a reason from the dropdown (spam, inappropriate content, harassment, misinformation, copyright violation, or other).
  3. Optionally add details to explain the issue.
  4. Click Submit.

After reporting, the button changes to "Reported" to confirm your report was received. You can only report a piece of content once.

What happens after you report

Every report is reviewed by a human moderator. Here's the process:

  1. Your report is logged — it's added to a moderation queue with the reason you selected.
  2. Automatic safety threshold — if the same content is reported by 3 or more people, it's temporarily hidden from the site while it waits for review.
  3. A moderator reviews — they can either approve the report (content stays hidden and related activity is removed) or dismiss it (content becomes visible again).

Reports are anonymous to the content owner — they won't know who reported them.

If your content is reported

If your content is hidden due to reports, you'll see a yellow warning banner when you visit it. The banner explains that the content is under review.

While hidden, your content:

  • Is still visible to you — you can always see your own content.
  • Is not visible to other users browsing the site, in search results, or in feeds.
  • Will be reviewed by a moderator who will either restore it or keep it hidden.

If a moderator dismisses the reports, your content is automatically restored and becomes visible again.

What you can report

You can report any photo, link, or article on the site. When reporting, choose the reason that best describes the issue:

  • Spam — advertising, unsolicited promotion, or bot-generated content.
  • Inappropriate content — content that doesn't belong on the platform.
  • Harassment or bullying — content targeting or intimidating another person.
  • Misinformation — deliberately false or misleading information.
  • Copyright violation — content that uses someone else's work without permission.
  • Other — anything else. Use the details field to explain.

Our approach to moderation

We believe in transparent, fair moderation. Here's what that means:

  • No shadow banning — if your content is hidden, you'll know about it. We'll never silently suppress your content.
  • Human review — every report is reviewed by a real person, not an algorithm.
  • Reversible — content hidden by reports can be restored by a moderator if the reports are dismissed.
  • One report per person — you can only report a piece of content once, preventing pile-ons from a single user.
